Infographics Supporting Public Health Research

Functioning as Presentation Slides, Posters and Handouts

Researchers at Central St George’s University of London came to me for infographics to support community research in Uganda.

The researchers made a set of short films raising awareness of the causes long-term effects of Group B Streptococcus in babies. Following this, they held focus groups to capture how the films were received by pregnant women and mothers in Kampala.

The infographics needed to function primarily as presentation slides, supporting and holding attention as the researchers spoke about the films and what they learned by showing them.

These were adapted as print-ready files, giving the researchers an A3 poster to place in local antenatal clinics, and A4 handouts. All files were provided in formats making local translations possible.

After learning that the team planned to build a wider presentation from these infographics, I provided a suite of spot illustrations that could easily be dropped in.

This allowed for visually cohesive supporting material for a wide range of applications.
